of infamous Chicago mobster and noted gangster Al Capone who was born
with congenital syphilis, which his father had contracted many years
before and survived a required brain surgery for the disease to treat a
serious mastoid infection as a child, but was left partially deaf (it
is rumored that his father offered his doctors $100,000 to save his
life), who was also known as Sonny and who led a lawful life in
contrast to his famous father, who changed his last name to Brown in
order to distance himself from the Capone family in later years.
